Clutch: Ride Together ("Clutch," "we," "us," or "our") is a motorcycle community app that helps riders connect, join group rides, and stay safe. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide, including display name, age, bio, and profile photo.
Bike Information: You may voluntarily provide details about your motorcycle (year, make, model, type, and custom name).
Location Data: When you enable riding status, Clutch collects your precise GPS location to display your position on the map for nearby riders and to automatically disable your riding status when you arrive at your saved home location. Background location is used only while your riding status is active. We do not collect location data when riding status is off.
Messages: Direct messages between riders are stored in our database to deliver them to recipients. We do not read your private messages except as required by law or to investigate abuse reports.
User-Generated Content: Group rides you create, hazard pins you drop (e.g. cop reports, road hazards), and ratings you submit are stored and visible to other users of the app.
Usage Data: We may collect anonymized data about how the app is used (e.g. feature interactions, crash reports) to improve the app experience.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
Clutch requests "Always On" location permission solely to support the home geofence feature — automatically turning off your riding status when you arrive home. This background access is used only when riding status is enabled. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings, though doing so will disable the auto-off feature.
Your precise location is never shared with third parties and is only visible to other Clutch riders within your chosen search radius while you have riding status enabled.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab, which will permanently remove your profile, messages, and location data from our systems within 30 days.
Hazard pins and group rides you created may remain visible to other users until they expire per the standard expiration rules of those features.
Clutch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below or delete your account directly through the app.
We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Security Rules to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
